Ward I: Josepha Haden Chomphosy

Councilmember Josepha Haden Chomphosy was appointed to the Mission City Council in May 2024 as representative for Ward 1.

Born and raised in northwest Arkansas, Josepha is a proud alumna of William Jewell College. After completing her education, she decided to make Kansas City her home, drawn to its vibrant community and opportunities for growth.

Outside of council, Josepha is the Executive Director for WordPress, the world’s leading open-source content management system. With a passion for fostering inclusive communities and empowering creators, she leads initiatives to democratize publishing and make the web a more accessible place for all.

Apart from her professional commitments, Josepha finds joy in exploring the local farmers markets and barbecue places with her husband Konstantin and their beloved dog Pepper. Whether enjoying the local cuisine or spending time outdoors, she appreciates the diverse experiences her community offers.

Josepha looks forward to connecting with residents, listening to their voices, and working together to address their needs and concerns effectively.
