1. Street Preservation Program Funding
For the past 18 months, in anticipation of the expiration of the dedicated street sales tax in March 2022, staff and Council worked to collect and analyze data to develop decision criteria which could be applied to an on-going street preservation program. Following renewal of the sales tax in September 2021, Council inquired about the ability to potentially accelerate the 10-year Street Preservation Program. Now that the first cycle of design and bidding for full depth reconstruction projects has been completed, staff is positioned to share additional information on costs and to explore how to use both street and stormwater resources to accomplish the program. During the work session we will recap the information which formed the foundation for the current 10-year street preservation program and review additional information which will help inform future decisions surrounding street financing as we begin our work on the 2023 budget.
