The City is actively planning for the next generation of parks investment in Mission. Outdoor spaces and opportunities for recreation are a key component to quality of life for our residents. Improvements to our parks is a priority of the City Council and a majority of residents as shown by the 2021 DirectionFinder® survey. The Parks + Recreation Master Plan, published in 2016, laid out priorities for our parks, but the next step was to develop conceptual designs for the improvements. That work has been underway for four of the City’s five major parks: Mohawk, Broadmoor, Waterworks, and Streamway. The plans for each park were developed by small stakeholder groups and have been presented individually at various times throughout the last 18 months. We are now excited to have the opportunity to share a more complete picture of the vision for Mission’s outdoor park system.
