Our team has thoroughly assessed the impact of the severe weather that affected Mission over the last week and are grateful that the damage city-wide was minimal. Given this assessment, there is not enough debris to warrant a special collection of curbside pick-up or brush drop-off.
We understand that some residents do have debris to clear. Please use your regular GFL collection day for any small branches or yard waste. Remember yard waste pickup must follow these guidelines:
• Please place yard waste in biodegradable paper bags or in homeowner-provided containers clearly marked “Yard Waste” or bundled together.
• Tree branches and limbs must be tied with string or twine in bundles no more than four (4) feet long and 18 inches in diameter. Bundles should not weigh more than 40 pounds.
• Bundles and bags may not exceed 40 pounds in weight.
• A limit of 10 bags/bundles will be enforced.
GFL will not remove any limbs or storm debris that do not meet these specifications. If you have yard waste that exceeds the weekly limit and have already taken it to the curb, you may leave it until the following week’s collection. If you are unable to manage the storm debris on your property, please call the City at 913.676.8350 to discuss options which might be available to you.
