The holiday season is a magical yet challenging time for many families in our community. Over the past 15 years, Mission’s Holiday Family Adoption Program has helped spread holiday cheer by providing food baskets and gifts to hundreds of families in Northeast Johnson County.

This program is made possible entirely through community donations and volunteers. Local businesses, residents, organizations, and faith communities come together to make the holidays special for these families.

You can help spread holiday magic in a few different ways:

Make a Financial Donation

• Make a tax deductible gift here or write a check to the City of Mission Charitable Fund. Cash donations are also accepted. If your employer matches gifts, consider taking advantage of that.

Adopt a Family

• Businesses, groups, and neighbors can adopt an entire family for the holidays. Contact Penn Almoney to learn more.

Purchase a Gift

• Stop by City Hall or the Powell Community Center to pick a tag from the giving tree, buy a gift, and return it unwrapped by December 15th.

Volunteer

• Help wrap gifts or assemble food baskets. Email Penn Almoney to sign up.
