The Kansas Department of Transportation will soon begin construction to install new traffic signals where Lamar Avenue intersects the I-35 ramps.

To safely complete this project, there will be temporary turn lane and shoulder closures on Lamar Ave from Thursday, November 30th to Wednesday, December 20th. We expect periodic daily closures and some flagging operations to direct traffic. Most work will happen behind shoulder closures, but equipment and drill rigs will need brief lane closures too.

Please notice signage and flags, allow extra time for possible minor delays, and drive safely through the area! We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is an important infrastructure improvement to boost safety and traffic flow at Lamar & I-35.

Additional signage will also be displayed in all areas to increase awareness and provide notice of any traffic impacts to affected areas.
